List Rules Only country singers born or raised in Alabama.

For centuries, Alabama has had a strong connection with country music. The influences of the Mississippi Delta Blues really impacted the region. It came into the Heart of Dixie, and it never left. Country music from the state has a unique flair, and many of the most influential and popular artists from the genre got their start right here. The most famous country singers from Alabama are a unique breed, and they have created some of the most well-known hits of all time.

One of the most important figures in country music to be born in Alabama is Hank Williams Sr. He was born in Georgiana, and throughout his career, he produced such hits as "Lost Highway" and "I'm So Lonesome I Could Cry." The country band Alabama also comes from the state bearing the same name. Formed in Alabama, the band really made a name for itself in the Southern rock scene throughout the 1970s. While the band changed lineups over the years, they always inspired other groups to follow in their footsteps. Which Alabama country singers are the best?
